March 1, 2010 -- Southwest Tennessee Community College has received a $250,000 donation from the Follett Higher Education Group for construction of the Nursing, Natural Sciences and Biotechnology facility to be built on the colleges Union Avenue campus.

Follett Higher Education Group is a subsidiary of River Grove, Ill.-based Follett Corp., a $2.7 billion, privately-held company that provides products, services and solutions to the educational marketplace.


Southwest has raised $10 million of $16.75 million in funding for the proposed 74,000-square-foot facility.

Southwest has received grants and donations from Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp., private donors and the Assisi Foundation since the plans for the new facility were first announced in 2007.
