January 27, 2010 -- A team from Le Bonheur Childrens Medical Center is among the first dedicated pediatric surgical teams from the U.S. being deployed to Haiti.

The team, which will leave this week, will be working at the Haiti Medical Missions of Memphis clinic in Croix des Bouquets near Port-au-Prince.

Dr. Sunny Anand, director of pediatric critical care at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, will lead the team. Other members include Dr. Gordon Kraus, Dr. Derek Kelly, Dr. Josh Meier, Dr. Trey Eubanks, Dr. Joel Saltzman, certified registered nurse and anesthetist Gordon Corder and surgery technician Jacob Howell.
